The Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist – Dissociation (CCTS-D) certification gives clinicians the confidence to recognize and treat one of the most common and most misunderstood responses to trauma. Clients who lose time, feel unreal, or shut down in session often stall in treatment, and many clinicians feel unprepared to help them. Grounded in current neuroscience and a strengths-based, salutogenic approach, the CCTS-D certification demonstrates knowledge of how dissociation works in the brain and body. It also shows you can tell apart depersonalization, derealization, dissociative amnesia, and dissociative identity disorder. Certified clinicians learn to sequence treatment so that safety and regulation come first, which helps clients stay present, avoid retraumatization, and move forward. The certification equips you to reach the clients who have been hardest to help, and it shows colleagues, referral sources, and clients that you are trained to provide specialized, ethical care for dissociation.
